Louis J. Endres was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1896, studied art in the Cincinnati Art Academy.

1920 Won a Tiffany scholarship to study in Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York.

1924 Continues his studies in Paris with Castelucho at the Academy de " La Grande Chaumière".

1925 Becomes art professor at the Cincinnati Art Academy.

1926 1st trip to North Africa, and a studio in Algiers.

1927 A 2nd trip to North Africa, with an exposition in the Cincinnati Art Museum.

1928 Back to Paris, with a studio at "Passy".

1930 A 3rd trip to Morocco, studio in Marrakech.

1931 Moves to Rabat, and opens his new studio. He becomes known as the American artist of North Africa, and is commissioned to execute portraits and typical Moroccan scenes.

1935 His art work is greatly appreciated during an exposition of "Les peintres d'Afrique du Nord, exposition which is inaugurated by Alb   ...  [Displaying 1000 of 2145 characters.]  Artist bio
